70A Few Things About Me.
Creativeness has been running through my veins for as long as I have
known. I remember for my 12th birthday, my parents gave in a sewing
machine. I had a large closet in my bedroom, which I set up as a sewing
room. I would spend hours in there, sewing. I have always like doing a
variety of crafts. Mostly for the creativeness and some for the
fellowship. My grandmother used to share her crochet patterns and ideas
with me. We would spend countless hours crocheting together. I didn't
hold my crochet hook like most crocheters. Grandma would say I held my
hook like a shovel, but that girl could really go. One summer in my
early 20's I spent a week "babysitting" my great aunt, she was probably
in her mid to late 80's. She loved to crochet and that is just about
all we did for that entire week. We worked at it so much I ended up
with a sty in my eye. My hobby interests have changed some over the
years. When my son's where small , I enjoyed making clothes for them.
In the past several years I have followed in my mother's steps and
enjoy making quilts. It is always fun to see how a quilt comes
together, the colors, the patterns, the designs. I have so many I don't
think we will ever be able to use them all. I may try to sell them if I
can part with one no and then. Over ten years ago I got hooked on
scrapbooking, oh my gosh....I think it is my true love. I love the
creativeness of putting together colors and patterns. And my love of
taking pictures now has a wonderful way to display them. I construct a
yearly album of our family life and have also made a few specialty
albums. Football is another passion in our house, husband being a
football coach and all, two son's who have both played football in the
past. We have some great football pages. The boy's are also avid
fishermen, so that is another topic I scrap alot of. When they talk
about splitting the albums up, when I am ready to pass them on, they
both want the one that has the wheelbarrowful of fish they caught one
night of fishing.
Great place for ideas.

Over the last few years I have been looking for a way to share my love of the scrapbooking with others that have similar interests. I hope that people will find my information beneficial for their own scrapbooking layouts.
My Favorite Scrapbooking Subjects
Over the past ten years ago I started scrapbooking and since the onset of my newfound favorite past time, my favorite subjects have been my two son’s. I didn’t start scrap booking until about the time the youngest was about five or six years old. Many times I have wished that I had started when they were babies, but looking back I would never of had the time to scrap. Also, when you are just starting out having children, money is also a consideration. There is nothing saying that a person can’t always go back and scrap those years later on in life, just be sure to save important items and make notes of events, dates, and anything that you may find useful later on. I don’t think you can ever have too much. Once the scrapping is done, that excess “stuff” can always be trashed!
My favorite subjects have allowed me to scrap countless pages of fishing, hunting, football, basketball, our pets, and lots of outdoor activities. At time I have had to struggle to get the photo, they would see me coming with the camera and take off running. This would not deter me!! I have learned how to use the zoom on my camera quite well. The photos I really like are the ones when the boy’s aren’t looking at the camera anyway. They just seem to be more real.
As much as the kid’s seem to hate have there picture taken, they really enjoy looking at the albums I have created. Now that they are older the seem to appreciate being able to get out the albums and reminisce about the times past. It has surprised me how often when they have a girlfriend over, they like to get out the scrapbook. Well, maybe it is mostly that one particular album that has the photo’s from the summer we went home to Nebraska and they caught a wheelbarrow full of fish in one evening. Good times!
Family is very important and I think it should be photographed as often as possible. My big thing is between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I gather my favorite subjects together including what ever pets we have at the time, for a family photo. I like to include these with Christmas cards each year. Some years it is more of a struggle than other years.
